Afterwards a sumptuous reception of fine fare was enjoyed by everyone with music to beat the band plus the added bonus of a cruise on the Shannon to whet the appetite. Clifford Richardson son of Mervyn &amp;#38; Gladys Carrigallen of Jet Wash Carrigallen a member of the Buccarees Rugby Club in Athlone has transferred to the Longford Rugby Club. His brother Keith Richardson has played a number of seasons there and was player of the year in 2000. Clifford has played the League Campaign and reached the promotion play offs but unfortunately lost play off. Closest promotion opportunity for club to date had a great winning run in the Leinster Provisional Towns Cup , one of the longest and oldest running cup competitions in Irish rugby. Reached the final for the first time since 1932 for the Longford club which was a great occasion for the club and all its members. It was with regret that we learned of the death of Sonny Duffey Portanure Loch Gowna on Saturday 4th May at Cavan General Hospital. Sonny had spent the past few years of his life in Castle Manor Nursing Home Cavan. He was a very friendly and generous person who was held in high esteem by his neighbours and friends. His remains were removed from Castle Manor Nursing to the Church of Holy Family Loch Gowna on Sunday evening and following requiem Mass on Monday burial took place in the local cemetery. To his relatives neighbours and many friends we extend our deepest sympathy.
